Fast, Effective Treatment with Essential Oils

I was talking with a friend the other day, and they commented that one of the reasons they reach for over-the-counter medications first is because they want an effective treatment that is going to work fast. For example, if they have a headache, then they take headache medicine knowing that they will definitely experience relief within about 20 minutes when the medication kicks in.

The irony of the conversation made me realize that sometimes I take it for granted that essential oils work so quickly… this person didn’t know the speed and effectiveness of natural remedies because they hadn’t given the natural remedies a chance!

I love the fact that using essential oils can help me to find relief within seconds…

  • If I have a headache, I apply peppermint to my forehead, temples and the back of my neck and I start to experience relief within seconds. No need to wait for 20 minutes for medication to kick in!
  • Anytime I’ve accidentally burned my hand in the kitchen, I always reach for the bottle of lavender and it cools the burned area immediately. No need to apply aloe vera gel every 30 minutes for the next 24-48 hours.
  • Whenever I am experiencing indigestion, I reach for my DigestZen blend (Anise, Caraway, Coriander, Fennel, Ginger, Peppermint, Tarragon) and I can feel my stomach calm almost immediately. No need to chew down chalky tablets every 20 minutes until it goes away.

The most important factor is to have these natural options in the home BEFORE a health concern arises, so that they can be used in the moment when they are needed. If they are easily accessible, then you can reach for the natural remedy first– and you will forever be converted to the wonderful benefits of using essential oils in your home.

I am so grateful to have a toolkit of natural remedies to use in my everyday living, they’ve brought so many blessings to my life! I know that there is a time and place for medication– and I’m not opposed to using medication when it’s needed. But, I love the fact that I can try using essential oils first, and most of the time I experience relief quickly without a need for additional treatment. If for some reason the natural remedies don’t work as well as I was hoping, there’s always the option to take medication after that.

It’s wonderful that we have so many options available in our day and age… and essential oils are at the top of my list of favorites!
